Oconee county is ideally located in the northwest corner of South Carolina, known as the "Golden Corner". The cosmopolitan cities of Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA are approximately a 1.5 hour drive. The charming, affluent mountain hamlets of Highlands and cashiers, NC are only a scenic drive up to the Blue Ridge Mountains and are especially beautiful in the Fall with a display of beautiful foliage. The exciting and upscale city of Greenville, SC is a wonder to behold. The downtown area is bustling with many excellent restaurants, cultural events, Peace Center for the Performing Arts and the new Falls Park on the Reedy River. Anderson, SC is about 20 miles from Seneca and offers many excellent eateries, enclosed shopping mall, and national retail outlets. Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is conveniently located directly off I85.

Abundant lakes and rivers offer rafting, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, and great fishing. Mountain trout fishing is so very relaxing and challenging. Bass and catfish live in Keowee and large bass in Hartwell. State Parks and Oconee County Parks offer camping, hiking, swimming, boating and just plain relaxing. The 85-mile Foothills Trail is a wonder for hikers who seek adventure. It meanders over the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and leads you to the wonders of the pristine waters of Lake Jocassee by way of a footbridge. The Jocasse Gorges Wilderness Area protects and preserves 40,000 acres of abundant wildlife and many plant species. Lake Jocassee is truely a one-of-a-kind paradise that will be enjoyed by your family for generations to come. The Sumter National Forest encompasses a large area within Oconee County and assures our citizens of controlled growth for generations to come. The Chattooga National Wild and Scenic River is born high in the Carolina mountains and for forty miles this tumultuous river separates South Carolina from Georgia. It became famous after the filming of the movie "Deliverance". Try river rafting, its great fun! Whitewater Falls said to be the highest cascade east of the Mississippi has meandering trails that encourage visitors to explore this impressive sight. A must see, especially in the fall of the year.
The historic town of Seneca in Oconee County, SC was recently voted one of the "Best Small Towns" in the Carolinas. Retirees from across the country have discovered and relocated to the area. They recognized that the temperate climate, low taxes, friendly faces and beautiful places is where they want to live. The city is located at the southern part of Lake Keowee. The historic downtown and Ram Cat Ally (pictured on the right) offer excellent restaurants and antique shops. When it comes to shopping, we have it all! Belk Gallant department store, outlet stores, Wal Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot to name a few. Oconee Memorial Hospital is a vital part of our community. Churches of all denominations are welcome and call my Kingdom "home".
The City of Clemson is located on the banks of Lake Hartwell in Pickens County. Smiling faces will greet you as you stroll through the quaint college town with brick sidewalks, tree-lined streets and small shops. It is an extension of the diverse and vibrant university community located at the end of College Avenue. You will experience the thrill of NCAA/ACC sports with the Clemson “Tigers”. Enjoy the varied entertainment offered at the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts and attend lectures at the Strom Thurmond Institute of Government and Public Affairs. Foothills Trail
Nearly 100-mile long hiking trail extends from Table Rock State Park in Pickens County to Oconee State Park in Oconee County. Mountain Bridge Wilderness & Recreation Area
More than 11,000 acres and 50 miles of trails connect to the Sumter National Forest with one trail leading to the Foothills Trail. This network of trails provides an excellent view of scenic vistas, including Raven Cliff Falls. Primitive trail side camping is permitted by registering with a ranger. High Falls County Park (Oconee County)
On the shores of awesome Lake Keowee. Tent and RV camping sites available. Open March 1 – November 30th. Boat ramps, tennis courts, picnic area.

Located 1 mile from Seneca. Close to shopping, movies, hospital, golf. Beautiful peninsula campsite that extends into Lake Keowee with awesome mountain and lake views. Picnic shelters can be rented for large parties/cookouts. Playground area, boat ramps, miniature golf. Open March 1 – December 1.
